Explanation
BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Director of the Department of Technology to modify and extend a contract, associated with purchase order EL003835, for software license and support services, for the Medical Manager software application, provided by Mount Carmel Health Systems, on behalf of the Columbus Health Department. Medical Manager is a critical application that enables the Columbus Health Department the ability to operate five major clinical operations which provides an extensive array of services, such as patient registration, appointment scheduling, monitoring and tracking of patient test results, processing of medical records, and generation of reports to help manage clinic operations. The current contract was originally executed with an expiration date of December 31, 2004. Funding is available and will provide an additional three months of support.

FISCAL IMPACT
Previously this year, the Department of Technology expended $75,000.00 with Mount Carmel Health Systems. Funding for this modification, in the amount of $44,000.00 is budgeted and available within the Department of Technology's internal services fund, with a coverage period extending through March 31, 2006.

EMERGENCY: Emergency action is requested to facilitate prompt contract execution and related payment for services.
