Explanation
Background:
The Historic Resources Commission is charged, in part, with identifying structures of historic and architectural significance, maintaining a list of these structures and other historic resources, and providing regulations through design review. With these goals in mind, the Columbus Register of Historic Properties was created.
An application has been made by Michael Roush, AIA and Michael Bongiorno, AIA to list the Northmoor Engine House/Station 19, 3601 North High Street, on the Columbus Register of Historic Properties. Proper notice was given to the property owner as required by Chapter 3117, C.C., a public hearing was held, and favorable comments were provided by the owner and the applicant. Based on these positive comments, the Historic Resources Commission recommended that the Northmoor Engine House/Station 19 be listed on the Columbus Register of Historic Properties.
Northmoor Engine House/Station 19 is eligible for listing on the Columbus Register of Historic Properties under Criterion A for architectural significance, Criterion D for craftsmanship and design, and Criterion E for historical significance.
Fiscal Impact:
No funding is required for this legislation.
