Explanation
1. BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Director of Public Utilities to enter into an agreement with Fuller, Mossbarger, Scott and May Engineers, Inc. for professional engineering services for the Safford/Union Area Stormwater System Improvements; to authorize the City Auditor to transfer $57,317.96 within the Storm Sewer Bond Fund; and to amend the 2007 Capital Improvements Budget.
This is a joint project between the Division of Sewerage and Drainage and the Division of Power and Water that will mitigate poor drainage and replace water lines along Union, Springmont, Safford and Homewood Avenues between Highland and Whitethorne Avenues, and mitigate poor drainage along Clarendon Avenue between Sullivant Avenue and Mound Street on the Westside of Columbus. The total cost of the agreement is $230,052.43; $197,317.96 from the Storm Sewer Bond Fund and $32,734.47 from the Waterworks Enlargement Voted 1991 Bonds Fund.
2. BID INFORMATION: The selection of the firm providing the professional engineering services has been performed in accordance with the procedures set forth in Columbus City Code, Section 329.11, "Awarding professional service contracts through requests for statements of qualifications." Statement of Qualifications were received on October 27, 2006. Three consultants were selected to submit technical proposals for this project. Columbus Engineering Consultants, Inc., Fuller, Mossbarger, Scott and May Engineers, Inc. and Jones-Stuckey Ltd. submitted a proposal on April 13, 2007.
