Title: To amend Ordinance No. 0440-2005, passed April 4, 2005, to correct program allocation amounts; and to declare an emergency.
Explanation

BACKGROUND: Ordinance No. 0440-2005, passed April 4, 2005, authorized the Director of the Department of Development to enter into contract with, among others, Maryhaven, Inc., to provide three separate and distinct substance abuse programs. The amounts for two of the programs identified in the legislation were transposed and are incorrect. This ordinance will amend Ordinance No. 0440-2005 by correcting the contract amounts as follows:

Maryhaven - Adult Male Outpatient Services from $251,143.00 to $59,796.00; and,
Maryhaven - Sub-acute Detoxification/Adult Rehabilitation from $59,796.00 to $251,143.00.

Emergency action is requested so that program services can continue uninterrupted.


FISCAL IMPACT: No additional funding is required by this legislation.

Body

WHEREAS, on April 4, 2005, Columbus City Council passed Ordinance No. 0440-2005, authorizing the Development Director to enter into a contract with various social service agencies, including programs provided by Maryhaven, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, it has been determined that two of the contract amounts were inadvertently transposed; and

WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Department of Development in that it is immediately necessary to authorize the amendment to Ordinance No. 0440-2005 so that program services can continue without interruption for the immediate preservation of the public health, peace, property, safety and welfare; now, therefore,


BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:


Section 1. That Section 2 of Ordinance Number 0440-2005, passed April 4, 2005, be and is hereby amended to read as follows:
