Explanation
BACKGROUND: The Board of Health has been awarded a grant from the Ohio Department of Health to fund the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program for the period October 1, 2008 through September 30, 2009. The Ohio Department of Health has provided $24,042.50 for the lease of real property to be used as clinic space for the WIC Program at 1202 West Broad Street for the period October 1, 2008 through September 30, 2009.

FISCAL IMPACT: The contracts cited above are entirely funded by the grant. This grant does not generate revenue or require a City match.

To authorize and direct the Director of Finance and Management Department to enter into a lease contract with Tom Zanetos for the lease of clinic space for the WIC program, for the period October 1, 2008 through September 30, 2009; to authorize a total expenditure of $24,042.50 from the Health Department Grants Fund; and to declare an emergency. WHEREAS, the City desires, for the benefit of the Department of Health, to enter into a lease contract with Tom Zanetos for the rental of real property, in order to provide services for the Women, Infants and Children program; and,
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Health Department in that it is immediately necessary to enter into this lease for the immediate preservation of the public health, peace, property, safety and welfare; Now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
