Explanation
This ordinance authorizes the establishment of a general budget reservation to support expenses associated with Wednesdays with Wyche.
Wednesdays with Wyche is the community engagement plan to educate constituents and residents about upcoming public utilities and sustainability committee legislation, topics and initiatives.
This plan includes up to 12 events, such as townhalls and roundtables, throughout the city of Columbus
The funds will be used for food and refreshments for longer meeting sessions, venue rental space, marketing/educational materials and any audio/visual that may be necessary. The use of funds to provide food and beverage to attendees serves a public purpose in that it increases the likelihood that residents will participate in engaging with Council.
Fiscal Impact: Funding is available within the Neighborhood Initiatives subfund.

To authorize an expenditure within the Neighborhood Initiatives subfund in support of Wednesdays with Wyche. ($5,000.00)
Body
WHEREAS, City Council prioritizes educating residents and constituents on current legislation, important topics and relevant initiatives; and
WHEREAS, the Public Utilities and Sustainability committee actively works, in conjunction with city departments, on a variety of topics, legislation and programs to meet the city’s climate action plan and other initiatives; and
WHEREAS, City Council will host up to 12 events across the city educating residents and constituents about the committee work under the Wednesdays with Wyche program;
WHEREAS, it has become necessary in the usual daily operation to authorize a general budget reservation in advance of year end to accommodate activities in 2026; now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
SECTION 1. That the expenditure of $5,000.00, or so much thereof as necessary, is hereby authorized in the Neighborhood Initiatives subfund, fund 1000, subfund 100018, per the accounting code...
