Explanation

BACKGROUND: In order to have an effective Land Reutilization Program, it is necessary to acquire other vacant and underutilized properties. The property known as 00 Whitethorne will be held in the City's Land Bank and managed in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Land Reutilization Program. This transfer of property will be done by virtue of a deed, which will be recorded in the Official Records of the County Recorder's Office. This vacant lot will provide green space and future development opportunities.

FISCAL IMPACT: No funding is required for this legislation. The maintenance of this property will be provided by the internal staff as well as maintenance contracts paid from the Land Management Fund.

Body

WHEREAS, Stephen Schenz, Trustee, owner of the said real estate has agreed to donate this property to the City's Land Bank; and

WHEREAS, by virtue of said deed to the City of Columbus this deed will be recorded in the Franklin County, Ohio, Recorder's Office; and

WHEREAS, the City desires to accept the deed for said property which will be held in the Land Bank Program and managed in accordance with the Land Reutilization Program's policies and procedures; now, therefore,


BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:


Section 1. That the City of Columbus hereby accepts the property described herein as:
