To memorialize and celebrate the life of Elizabeth “Peanie” Devonne Taylor, 1949-2026

Body

WHEREAS, Elizabeth Devonne Taylor, often referred to as "Peanie" or “Liz” by those close to her, was born on July 9th, 1949, to her late parents Eugene Taylor and Mary Taylor; and

WHEREAS, Elizabeth was as much a Columbus native and icon as the eastside landmark water tower she grew up beside; and

WHEREAS, Elizabeth dedicated thirty years to working for Western Electric until retiring, only to rejoin the work force for ten more years in pursuit of empowering others through the Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities; and

WHEREAS, Elizabeth was a bright light in the lives of her family and friends, who had an unshakable love for dancing and her grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, the City of Columbus wishes to offer sincere condolences to the friends of Elizabeth Taylor, including her only child, Tracy Taylor; grandchildren Donnika, Daya, and David; great grandchildren Anthony, Marshaun and Dayvon; siblings Allan Taylor, Loretta (George) Harrison, Rita (Vaughn) Stephenson, and Theresa Taylor; and best Kathleen French and Emma Taylor; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council does memorialize and celebrate the life of Elizabeth “Peanie” Devonne Taylor
