To honor and recognize Elder E.T. Parker, III for his three years of dedicated service to The Word Church.

WHEREAS,  this Council celebrates the momentous occasion of  the  Word Church's three year anniversary under the pastorate of Elder E.T. Parker, III; and,
 
WHEREAS, we honor and recognize Elder Parker  for his vision and leadership with a ministry emphasis on Evangelism, Education, Exaltation, Edification and Equipping; and,
 
WHEREAS,   Elder  Parker has an extensive background in church leadership.  He acknowledged his calling to preach the gospel at the early age of nine.  While in his teenage years, he served as the Assistant Pastor to his father at The Parker Memorial Church of God in Christ of Cleveland, Ohio; and,
 
WHEREAS, Elder Parker was  faithfully active as a young Evangelist traveling and conducting revivals while participating in various conferences and conventions across the states.  He is widely known and respected as an anointed man of integrity, knowledge and character; and,
 
WHEREAS,  In 1989, Elder Parker obeyed his calling to become the Founder, President/CEO and Senior Pastor of The Word Church of God in Christ, Inc., in Cleveland, Ohio.  In the Winter of 1999, he and his family moved to Columbus, Ohio. Under his God-given vision, in 2001 Elder Parker established The Word Church of God in Christ of Columbus, Ohio and "The Word church" of God in Christ of Delaware, Ohio.  He describes The Word Churches as "Many Churches-One Word;" now; therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
 
That this Council does hereby honor and recognize Elder E.T. Parker, III for his
three years of dedicated service to The Word Church.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution be presented to Elder E.T. Parker, III as a token of our high esteem.
