Title
To recognize and congratulate St. Joseph Montessori School on its national designation as a Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education.
Body
WHEREAS, the St. Joseph Montessori School, as member of the Diocese of Columbus, is an independent Catholic, Montessori school education 285 students from age 3 to the 8th grade at two location in Columbus Short North; and
WHEREAS, for the second time in ten years, St. Joseph Montessori School has been designated a national Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. St. Joseph Montessori School is the only Central Ohio school to receive this year's award and just one of 17 schools in Ohio to be so named; and
WHEREAS, the St. Joseph Montessori School was recognized by the U.S. Department of Education for being a private school that achieved in the top ten percent in the nation, recognizing not jus the process the school utilizes to excel in education but also student achievement; and
WHEREAS, the students, faculty, staff, and parents of the St. Joseph Montessori School will celebrate this special honor with a week of events November 14th - 18th; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That this Council does hereby congratulate St. Joseph Montessori School, one of only 17 schools in Ohio, on it's national recognition as a Blue Ribbon School and recognize the school for its continued excellence in educating the next generation of children in the City of Columbus.
