Explanation

1. Background
The City of Columbus, Department of Public Service, received a request from the owner of the site, Franklin County Board of Commissioners, asking that the City allow a Security Booth to encroach into the public right-of-way. This encroachment consist of one booth along the north side of West Fulton Street, east of South Front Street and parallel to parcel 010-055568. This project consist of a Security Booth next to the existing Franklin County building. This encroachment is located within the right-of-way as indicated above and the easement as described below and within the attached exhibit.

The following legislation authorizes the Director of the Department of Public Service to execute those documents necessary for the City to grant this encroachment and legally allow the Security Booth into the public rights-of-way. Allowing this element into the public right-of-way will allow for the building to have secure and safe access and deliveries. A value of $500.00 for the encroachment easement was established.

2. Fiscal Impact
The City will receive a total of $500.00, to be deposited in Fund 7748, Project P537650, for granting the requested encroachments.
