Explanation
Background:

The Recreation and Parks Department desires to enter into a five-year lease agreement with The Adaptive Adventure Sports Coalition for use of the residence at the Jeffrey Scioto Park.

The property is located at 6000 State Route 745, Shawnee Hills, Ohio.

The Adaptive Adventure Sports Coalition provides outdoor activities for disabled populations. This organization programs for the disabled with the Therapeutic Recreation Section of the Recreation and Parks Department. Use of the site will provide office space for their staff and access to the reservoir for various water-related activities.

All improvements to the structure will be the responsibility of The Adaptive Adventure Sports Coalition.

The lease is for five years at $1.00 per year.

This ordinance is being submitted as an emergency to allow the organization to begin work as soon as possible.

Fiscal Impact:

Revenue - $1.00 per year.

Body

WHEREAS, The Adaptive Adventure Sports Coalition wishes to lease the residence at Jeffrey Scioto Park for use as office space and access to the reservoir for various water-related activities for disabled populations; and

WHEREAS, the Recreation and Parks Department has no immediate plans for the site and will benefit from improvements made to the site by The Adaptive Adventure Sports Coalition; and

WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Recreation and Parks Department in that it is immediately necessary to submit said grant application for the preservation of public health, peace, property and safety; now, therefore
