Explanation
BACKGROUND: This ordinance authorizes the Director of the Department of Public Safety, on behalf of the Division of Support Services, to enter into contracts with K.N.S. Services, Inc. for maintenance, support and camera upgrades of the Neighborhood Safety Camera program.
As part of a comprehensive approach to preventing and fighting crime in Columbus neighborhoods, the City of Columbus entered into contract in 2011 to design and install safety cameras in five original neighborhoods. Vernon, Weinland Park, Linden, Franklinton, the Far East, and Far North areas of Columbus. This legislation seeks authorization to enter into contracts with K.N.S.
