Recognizing and honoring October 15, 2025, as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day

 

Body

 

WHEREAS, pregnancy and infant loss affects families and communities everywhere, leaving an enduring impact on parents, grandparents, siblings, and loved ones; and

 

WHEREAS, Aliyah’s Light Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support was founded in loving memory of Aliyah Danyell Bing to provide compassionate care, grief education, and a safe space for healing to families navigating the unimaginable pain of loss; and

 

WHEREAS, the organization offers programs of comfort, remembrance events, and resources that honor the lives of babies gone too soon while raising awareness about pregnancy and infant loss in our community; and

 

WHEREAS, Aliyah’s Light embodies the spirit of hope by illuminating pathways to healing, supporting families in their grief journeys, and inspiring conversations that break the silence and stigma surrounding pregnancy and infant loss; and

 

WHEREAS, October 15th is recognized nationally as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day, providing a special time to acknowledge the deep grief and enduring love of families and to encourage community-wide understanding and support; now, therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council hereby honors and recognizes October 15, 2025, as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness
