Explanation
This ordinance authorizes the City Clerk to enter into a grant agreement with the Columbus Compact Corporation to operate as the fiscal agent in support of PawGone Good’s youth entrepreneurship program, the Pawpreneur Pioneer Program.
Columbus Compact Corporation is a non-profit organization in Columbus, dba Columbus Empowerment Corporation, that will provide support to PawGone Good’s youth entrepreneurship program known as the Pawpreneur Pioneer Program.
Emergency legislation is required to ensure that support is provided in a timely manner for the program, which begins in April.
Fiscal Impact: Funding is available within the Job Growth subfund.

WHEREAS, Columbus Compact Corporation is a non-profit organization in Columbus that serves as a business and entrepreneur support organization; and
WHEREAS, Columbus Compact Corporation is prepared to serve as a fiscal agent in support of the Pawpreneur Pioneer Program; and
WHEREAS, Columbus City Council seeks to promote opportunities for young entrepreneurs to explore and learn in supportive environments; and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Clerk's Office in that it is immediately necessary to authorize the Clerk to enter into a grant agreement with Columbus Compact Corporation to serve as a fiscal agent in support of the “Pawpreneur” youth entrepreneurship program so that support can be issued in a timely manner for programming beginning in April; NOW, THEREFORE,
