To authorize the Public Service Director to modify and increase the contract with Bauer Davidson & Merchant, Inc. for the preparation of construction plans for the Neighborhood Commercial Revitalization No. 1 project for the Transportation Division; to authorize the expenditure of $23,373.62 from the Voted 1995, Voted 1999 Streets and Highways Fund; and to declare an emergency. WHEREAS, contract CT-17792 (EA012906) was authorized by Ordinance No. 2497-96 passed November 19, 1996, executed December 4, 1996, and approved by the City Attorney on December 5, 1996; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to modify this contract to increase the scope of services as per the consultant's letter dated December 12, 2002, for the Neighborhood Commercial Revitalization No. 1 project; and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Public Service Department, Transportation Division, in that the design contract should be modified immediately, allowing for the earliest possible payment for design already completed on this project thereby preserving the public health, peace, property, safety and welfare; now therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
SECTION 1. That the Public Service Director be and hereby is authorized to modify and increase Contract No. CT-17792 (EA012906) with Bauer, Davidson & Merchant, Inc., 255 Green Meadows Drive South, Westerville, Ohio 43081 to complete the design and construction plans for the Neighborhood Commercial Revitalization No. 1 project in accordance with the plans on file in the office of the Public Service Director.
SECTION 2. That for the purpose of paying the cost of the contract, the sum of $23,373.62, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby authorized to be expended from the Voted 1995, Voted 1999 Streets and Highways Fund, no. 704, for the Transportation Division, Dept./Div. 59-09, OCA code 644385, Object Level Three 6682 and project 530058.
