Explanation
Background: This legislation authorizes the Finance and Management Director to modify a contract for the Facilities Management Division with Physical Planning Technologies, LTD (PPT) for server hosting for a Comprehensive Municipal Capital Planning and Asset Management System. The original contract for PPT was authorized by Ordinance 0603-2005, passed July 20, 2005. It was to provide a software application for a Capital Planning Management System, as well as training and software support. This modification will allow the Facilities Management Division to exercise an option within the contract with PPT to host the database on PPT's servers for a one-year period. This one-year period will begin when PPT and the Finance and Management Director mutually agree that the database is sufficiently populated with data. The Facilities Management Division attempted to access server space with the Technology Department, but it was determined that this would not be cost-effective.
Emergency action is requested so that proper management of city capital and operational projects is not delayed.
Fiscal Impact: The amount of this modification is $36,000.00. Funding is available in the 2005 General Fund budget. Physical Planning Technologies Ltd. Contract Compliance Number 98-0400011, exp. 02/18/2008. The amount of the original contract was $480,070.00, therefore with this modification the new contract amount will be $516,070.00.
