Explanation
Background: On July 2, 2008, the Director of Public Safety entered into contract #EL008134 pursuant to Ordinance #1870-2007, passed 12/5/2007, with LexisNexis Risk & Information Analysis, for instant computer access to their database for investigative searches for police personnel. Due to a price increase, the Director of Public Safety has a need to modify the current contract to increase funding for these vital services to continue through to the end of February 2009. A total of $34,020.00 has already been encumbered and an additional $10,480.00 will be needed to complete the current contract term. A total modified cost of $44,500.00 will be expended for contract EL008134 in 2008.
Bid Information: This service is currently in use and the Division of Police is requesting to add funds to the current contract to continue this vital investigative tool without interruption.
This company is not debarred according to the Federal excluded parties listing or prohibited from being awarded a contract according to the Auditor of State unresolved findings for recovery certified search.

FISCAL IMPACT
$10,480.00 has been appropriated for this purchase through Law Enforcement Contraband Seizure Funds. There will be no effect on the financial status of the General Fund.
