Title: To authorize the appropriation and expenditure of $10,000.00 from the portion of the Hotel/Motel tax devoted to the specific purpose of expanding cultural services for the enrichment of the community to Compete Columbus (Easy Columbus) for the development of the Columbus Student Engagement project; to authorize and direct the City Auditor to reduce the available funds within the Office of City Council, Hotel/Motel tax fund by that same amount; to authorize and direct the City Clerk to enter into a contract with Compete Columbus for the development of said project; and to declare an emergency. Explanation

To authorize the appropriation and expenditure of $10,000.00 from the portion of the Hotel/Motel tax devoted to the specific purpose of expanding cultural services for the enrichment of the community to Compete Columbus (Easy Columbus) for the development of the Columbus Student Engagement project; to authorize and direct the City Auditor to reduce the available funds within the Office of City Council, Hotel/Motel tax fund by that same amount; to authorize and direct the City Clerk to enter into a contract with Compete Columbus for the development of said project; and to declare an emergency. ($10,000.00)

FISCAL IMPACT: That funding for this ordinance is made available from sub fund 002 of the City's Hotel/Motel Tax Fund 231. This sub fund is the portion of bed tax devoted to expanding cultural services to the community.

WHEREAS; The City of Columbus is honored to partner with local colleges, and civic and corporate entities, including The Ohio State University, Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD), Experience Columbus, and Compete Columbus, to move forward the Columbus Student Engagement project, and
