To Celebrate the Irish heritage and Contributions of Paramedic Sean Malone to the City of Columbus, on Irish Proclamation Day, 2026.

WHEREAS, Sean Patrick Malone is the son of Joe and Jo Ann Malone. Born May 9th, 1969, he was raised on a farm in Lancaster, Ohio; and
WHEREAS, having received a degree from Wilmington College, Mr. Malone decided to become a volunteer firefighter in Bloom Township, the first of several township fire departments for whom he would volunteer; and
WHEREAS, on October 31st, 1999, Mr. Malone applied for and was accepted for enrollment at the Columbus Fire Academy, where he would graduate and become a firefighter and paramedic for the Columbus Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, as a paramedic and acting EMS supervisor, Sean played a pivotal role in advancing emergency medical response, including serving on the division’s initial stroke team response truck, where rapid assessment and treatment were critical to saving lives and improving patient outcomes.; and
WHEREAS, in 2023, he earned the Division’s Paramedic of the Year award. His dedication to both fire suppression and emergency medical services reflects a career defined by service, innovation, and a deep commitment to the well-being of the Columbus community; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Malone now resides with his loving wife and youngest son on the Malone family farm, proud to be running and growing the namesake ‘Malone Farms’ that was established in 1935; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council celebrates the Irish Heritage and Contributions of Paramedic Sean Malone to the City of Columbus on Irish Proclamation Day, 2026.
