To congratulate and commend the Kaleidoscope Youth Center for the important programming and services offered, and for the tremendous impact and support it provides to Central Ohio's LGBTQ youth community.
Body
WHEREAS, the Kaleidoscope Youth Center was established in June of 1994; and
WHEREAS, since its founding, the organization has contributed much to the lives of many by providing a community center, and programming and services that enhance the well-being and visibility of Central Ohio's important and diverse LGBTQ youth community through discovery, affirmation and celebration; and
WHEREAS, over 200 LGBTQ youth seek the services and programming offered by the Kaleidoscope Youth Center each month; and
WHEREAS, numerous complex life and living issues confront LGBTQ youth, including disproportionate suicide rates and alcohol and drug abuse; and
WHEREAS, services and programming offered by the Kaleidoscope Youth Center have been vital in helping LGBTQ youth deal successfully with these, and many more, complex life and living issues; and
WHEREAS, the tremendous support shown by the many dedicated supporters and volunteers for the Kaleidoscope Youth Center is another example of the strength and importance of Central Ohio's LGBTQ community; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That this Council does hereby congratulate and commend the Kaleidoscope Youth Center for the important programming and services offered, and for the tremendous impact and support it provides to Central Ohio's LGBTQ youth community.
