Explanation
Background
This legislation will authorize a 12-month contract extension with Real Living Business for building management and maintenance services for the Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging. Services include cleaning and custodial services, building supplies and materials along with other related maintenance services.

Real Living Business is the current building managing agent who was awarded a four- year contract which will expire June 30, 2011.

Real Living Business has agreed to extend the administrative price for one additional year at the original bid amount.

Real Living Business Contract Compliance No. is 26-1183167 (effective through December 30, 2011).

Emergency action is requested to ensure that daily building services continue uninterrupted.

Fiscal Impact
$200,000.00 is required and budgeted from the Recreation and Parks Grant Fund to meet the financial obligation of this contract for an additional 12 months.

Body
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Central Ohio Area Agency of the Recreation and Parks Department in that it is immediately necessary to enter into said contract so that building maintenance services will continue without interruption; NOW, THEREFORE

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

Section 1. That the Director of Recreation & Parks be and is hereby authorized and directed to extend the contract with Real Living Business for building management and maintenance services for a twelve-month period beginning July 1, 2011.
