To recognize and congratulate Angela Pace for her induction into the Silver Circle of The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), Ohio Valley Chapter.



Body

WHEREAS, Angela Pace is a native of Columbus and has remained in Central Ohio throughout her entire professional career; she served as a news anchor for many years prior to becoming the Director of Community Affairs at WBNS-TV; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Pace was inducted into the Silver Circle of The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATS), Ohio Valley Chapter on Saturday, February 19, 2011 for her lasting contributions to the industry; the Silver and Gold Circles recognize television professionals who have performed distinguished service within the media industry for 25 and 50 years or more, with a significant part of their service done within the Ohio Valley region of Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, and West Virginia; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Pace has been an advocate for victims of domestic violence, inner-city youth, drug prevention and many other important community issues; she serves on the board of directors for the I know I Can program, the Inner City Games, the Central Ohio DARE program, the Columbus Coalition Against Family Violence, the Mid Ohio Foodbank, the Lincoln Theatre Association, the Nationwide Children's Hospital Foundation, the Columbus Association for the Performing Arts and the Jazz Arts Group; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Pace served on the Capital University board of trustees for eight years and was a member of the Capital University alumni board; she was the host of the United Negro College Fund's annual telethon and the grand marshal for their walk-a-thon for four years; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Pace has been recognized with numerous awards and honors including the 1994 Women of Achievement Award from the YWCA of Central Ohio, the Governor's Award for Journalism and Community Service, the Capital University Alumni Achievement Award, three Emmy awards ...
