To honor, recognize, and celebrate the life and service of David Hull and to extend sincerest condolences to his family and friends for his passing.

Body

 

WHEREAS, David Hull was a talented, accomplished, and dedicated public-servant; and

WHEREAS, David Hull served the City of Columbus in the Department of Development for sixteen years; and

WHEREAS, David Hull was born in 1947 in Orange, New Jersey; David received a History degree from Colorado College; and

WHEREAS, David served as a Vista Volunteer in Washington D.C where he achieved one of his favorite accomplishments, saving the Adams Morgan community from a bridge and highway construction project that would have split the community; and

WHEREAS, David had an illustrious career in New Jersey as the Director of Economic Development for Essex County, spearheading several instrumental projects including developing the Resource Recovery Plant in Newark, New Jersey; and

WHEREAS, David relocated to Dublin, Ohio in 1998 after a mid-career diversion to the Harvard Kennedy School of Government for his Master’s Degree; and

WHEREAS, David served the City of Columbus admirably in his role at the Department of Development, leading projects such as the creation of the Morse Road Special Improvements District; and

WHEREAS, David was an avid reader, a World War History aficionado, and a passionate host of middle and high school students through the American Field Service and other exchange services, providing forty students a home throughout his time as a host; and

WHEREAS, David Hull changed the City of Columbus for the better, and is survived by his wife Mare, one younger brother, several cousins, and countless friends; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council does hereby honor, recognize, and celebrate the life and service of Mr. David Hull, and extends our sincerest condolences to his family and friends on his passing.
