Explanation
BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Finance and Management Director to establish two (2) Universal Term Contracts (UTCs) for the option to purchase Health Clinical Supplies with Bound Tree Medical LLC and Henry Schein Inc. The Columbus Public Health Department is the sole user for health clinical supplies that will be used in health clinics to diagnose medical conditions, and to treat and monitor patients' health. The term of the proposed option contract would be approximately two (2) years, expiring December 31, 2026, with the option to renew for two (2) additional one-year periods. The Purchasing Office opened formal bids on November 7, 2024. In addition, the expenditure of $2.00 is hereby authorized from General Budget Reservation BRPO002726.
The Purchasing Office advertised and solicited competitive bids in accordance with the relevant provisions of Section 329 relating to competitive bidding (Request for Quotation No. RFQ028991). Two (2) bids were received.
The Purchasing Office is recommending award to the overall lowest, responsive, responsible and best bidders as follows:
Bound Tree Medical LLC, CC# 005886 expires 6/12/2025, Items 1-135, 139, 140, 142-144, 147-152, 154, 156, 158, 177, 184-196and catalog at discount specified, $1.00
Henry Schein Inc., CC# 000504 expired 3/8/2024 (Pending), Items 1-166, 168-175, 177-197, 200 and catalog at discount specified, $1.00
Total Estimated Annual Expenditure: $150,000.00, Columbus Public Health Department, the sole user
Emergency Designation: The Finance and Management Department respectfully requests this legislation be considered an emergency ordinance because the current contract expires on December 31, 2024 and supplies are needed at various health clinics.
