To recognize Artist Brian Joiner and his exhibition Forged Souls, Weathered Soles.
Body
WHEREAS, Brian Joiner's art exhibition Forged Souls, Weathered Soles is currently on display in the Cultural Arts Center as well as the City Hall Front Street Gallery until February 19, 2006, and
WHEREAS, Brian Joiner has created multi-dimensional paintings and mixed media works that address historical and contemporary political, social and spiritual issues impacting society as a whole and the African-American community in particular, and
WHEREAS, Through the Forged Souls, Weathered Soles installation Brian Joiner endeavors to challenge the viewer's perceptions of life, liberty and justice, and
WHEREAS, Brian Joiner has devoted himself to his art full time since 1997 and has received awards based on his body of work; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That Brian Joiner is applauded for his dedication to his craft and that the Citizens of the City of Columbus are encouraged to view the Forged Souls, Weathered Soles exhibition at the Cultural Arts Center and the City Hall Front Street Gallery.
