EXPLANATION
BACKGROUND: The City owns real property located at 1900 N Wilson Road, Columbus, Ohio 43228 {Franklin County Tax Parcel 560-154646} (“Property”). The property is managed by the Recreation and Parks Department (“CRPD”) and it commonly known as Raymond Memorial Golf Course. The Property is further described and recorded in D.B. 1507, Pg. 396, Recorder’s Office, Franklin County, Ohio. As part of their NCHP Phase 5 Pipeline Project, Columbia Gas of Ohio, Inc. (“Columbia”) is requesting a perpetual, exclusive 0.357 acre Easement for the installation of a natural gas line and infrastructure upgrades to their adjoining improvements. CRPD, the Department of Development (“Development”) and Columbia have done extensive reviews of the plans in an effort to preserve the natural state of the land and limit the environmental impact of the construction. Development and CRPD support granting Columbia Gas the Easement provided that (i) Columbia pays the City a fair market value of $37,500.00, and Columbia complies with all terms and conditions of the easement.
This ordinance will authorize the director of the Department of Development, or their designee, with the approval of the director of the Recreation and Parks Department, to execute and acknowledge any document(s), as approved by the City Attorney, necessary to quitclaim grant Columbia a 0.357 acre exclusive easement burdening the City’s real property.
