Explanation
Background: Ordinance No. 1982-02, passed December 16, 2002, authorizing the City Attorney to acquire certain property rights, and to expend certain monies in connection with the Morse Road Reynoldsburg-New Albany 36" Water Main Project. The preliminary amount of funding originally made available for this project was done so with the understanding that additional monies may be needed at a later date. It is now necessary to increase the original Auditor's Certificate established by Ordinance 1982-02 to pay for additional costs in connection with this project. Therefore, it is requested that the Auditor's Certificate established by the aforementioned ordinance be increased by the amount of $30,000.00 to be expended towards the acquisition of land and other costs necessary to the aforementioned project. Fiscal Impact: The Department of Public Utilities, Division of Water has determined funding for this increase will be from the Water Limited Fund. This legislation is contingent upon a separate transfer ordinance, which is being processed simultaneously, to provide funding for this increase.Emergency Justification: Emergency action is requested to allow the acquisition of the parcels necessary for this project to proceed without delay in order to continue construction within this year's construction season.
