To recognize and celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Milo-Grogan Area Commission and its continued service to the residents of the Milo-Grogan community.
Body
WHEREAS, the Milo-Grogan Area Commission was established in 2000 to strengthen civic engagement, provide resident input on development, and uplift the rich cultural legacy of the Milo-Grogan neighborhood; and,
WHEREAS, for 25 years the Milo-Grogan Area Commission has served as a vital liaison between residents and the City of Columbus, offering equitable and community-driven recommendations on zoning, development, and neighborhood planning; and,
WHEREAS, the Commission has consistently advocated for investments that preserve the neighborhood’s historic character while promoting safety, economic growth, and improved quality of life for long-standing and new residents; and,
WHEREAS, the Milo-Grogan community has benefited from decades of dedicated volunteer leadership, including neighborhood cleanups, community events, youth engagement, and collaborative partnerships with city departments, nonprofits, and local organizations; and,
WHEREAS, the continued work of the Milo-Grogan Area Commission remains essential in ensuring that community input guides future development, supports local families, preserves cultural history, and fosters inclusive growth across the neighborhood.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That this Council hereby recognizes the 25th anniversary of the Milo-Grogan Area Commission and expresses its appreciation for the Commission’s longstanding service and advocacy on behalf of the Milo-Grogan community.
