To honor and recognize the 25th Annual All-Star Saturday hosted by the Columbus Metropolitan Youth Foundation

WHEREAS, for the past twenty-five consecutive years, the Columbus Metropolitan Youth Foundation, through the vision of founder, Richard Crockett, has hosted a free community event that unites residents of all backgrounds in a spirit of fellowship and civic pride; and,
WHEREAS, this beloved annual gathering has showcased local artists, athletes, small businesses, and cultural organizations, contributing to our city’s economic and cultural vitality; and,
WHEREAS, the event has provided a platform for community groups, non‑profits, and volunteers to share resources and services with thousands of attendees, strengthening the Bruce Howard Recreation Center and the surrounding neighborhood connections and promoting the common good; and,
WHEREAS, by offering free admission and a diverse program of activities-from live performances and fetes or athleticism and family games-the event embodies Columbus’ commitment to equity, accessibility, and lifelong learning; and,
WHEREAS, the success of this event reflects the collaboration of the City’s Office of Special Events, Columbus Recreation and Parks, local businesses, community leaders, and hundreds of volunteers who dedicate their time and talents each year; and,
WHEREAS, as Columbus continues to grow, this free community celebration remains a testament to our shared values of inclusion, creativity, and neighborliness; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That this Council does hereby honor and recognize the 25th Annual All-Star Saturday in the City of Columbus and urges all residents to join in this special observance to honor a quarter‑century of community building and to participate in the many free activities planned throughout the day.
