To Celebrate and Congratulate Conference of Minority Transportation Officials on 10 years of Empowering Diverse Voices in the Transportation Sector

WHEREAS, Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) is a national nonprofit with a chapter in Columbus, Ohio; and

 

WHEREAS, COMTO Columbus was re-established in 2014 to provide a networking forum for minority professionals in the transportation sector; and

 

WHEREAS, COMTO Columbus has been recognized as National Chapter of the Year in 2018 and 2019 for impactful advocacy in the Central Ohio community; and

 

WHEREAS, COMTO Columbus has distributed $169,000 in scholarships to support the next generation of minority professionals in transportation; and

 

WHEREAS, COMTO Columbus is now celebrating 10 years as a chapter by hosting a $100,000 fundraiser to provide scholarships for young minority students in Central Ohio who are studying STEM and Transportation related fields; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council does hereby celebrate and congratulate COMTO Columbus for 10 years of empowering and supporting minority professionals in the transportation industry.
