Explanation

BACKGROUND:
This ordinance will authorize the Director of the Department of Human Resources to accept a grant in the amount of $29,955.00 from the Ohio Department of Development for a TechCred Training Plan.

The Department of Human Resources submitted an application for the TechCred Program Grant. The Ohio Department of Development approved the Department of Human Resources grant application in the amount of $29,955.00 for a TechCred Training Plan. The effective date of the grant is February 1, 2025, and the end date is May 31, 2026. The training plan consists of SQL Queries (all levels), Copilot for Microsoft 365, Tableau (all levels), and Python (all levels) credentials.

The Department of Human Resources shall complete and submit reimbursement requests as instructed by the Ohio Department of Development, including providing documentation that evidences the credential has been completed and invoices and proofs of payment of related costs. The grantee shall submit reimbursement requests no more than once every 30 days during the grant period or within six (6) weeks of the credential being obtained.

The Department of Human Resources shall provide a status update on all approved credentials very four (4) months beginning on the effective date of the agreement or when submitted a reimbursement request, whichever is earliest. The Status Report shall provide information as to whether the credential(s) is (i) in process, (ii) not started but will be completed by the project completion date, (iii) completed but not submitted for reimbursement, (iv) completed and submitted for reimbursement or reimbursed, or (v) canceled.

FISCAL IMPACT:
This ordinance will authorize the appropriation of $29,955.00 to Fund 2220 (General Government Grants Fund).
