To honor, recognize and celebrate the life of  Rose Carline Weddington and extend our sincere condolences to her family and friends on the occasion of her passing, August 31, 2010.
 
 
 
Body
 
WHEREAS, Rose Carline Weddington was born on November 26, 1941 to John and Dorothy Howard in Springfield, Ohio; and
 
WHEREAS, Ms. Weddington was a loyal wife to husband, Harold and a devoted mother to four wonderful children, sons, Carlton and Harold Jr., and daughters, Marisia, Cynthia and Kim; and
 
WHEREAS, Ms. Weddington served the City of Columbus and her community with integrity and honor for over 40 years and gave generously of her time and abilities; and  
 
WHEREAS, Ms. Weddington was a member of the Board of Trustees for the King Arts Complex and was the recipient of the King Arts Complex Dream Award; and
 
WHEREAS, Ms. Weddington was a member of the Twin Rivers Chapter of the Link's Inc. and the Underground Roailroad Committee for the Friends of Freedom Society of the Underground Railroad Association; and
 
WHEREAS, Ms. Weddington's outstanding contributions and steadfast commitment to family, friends and the community clearly show the potential of individuals to have a positive effect on the quality of life in our society, and we are confident that her tireless efforts have inspired others to dedicate themselves similarly; and
 
WHEREAS, Ms. Weddington will be remembered by her friends and family for her creative thinking, culinary skills, energy, fashion sense, leadership, passion, service, vision and love of family and be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her; now, therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
 
That this council does hereby honor, recognize and celebrate the long and fulfilling life of Rose Carline Weddington and extend our sincerest condolences to her family and friends on the occasion of her passing.
