2004 Law Enforcement Training Grant
Explanation
This ordinance authorizes the City Attorney to accept a grant from the Franklin County Board of Commissioners, Justice Programs Unit, for the Office of the City Attorney, Prosecutor Division. These funds shall be used to provide Law Enforcement Training for all police departments in the area of stalking, and to develop a stalking protocol for Franklin County. This ordinance will further authorize the transfer and appropriation of matching funds required by the grant award.
The Grant award is as follows:
2003-WF-VA1-V503 Law Enforcement Training - $11,400.00
Matching funds required from the City Attorney's general fund budget are $3,814.00.

To authorize the acceptance and appropriation of a grant from the Franklin County Board of Commissioners, Justice Programs Unit for the total amount of $11,400.00 for the purpose of continuing efforts in the deterrence of the crime of stalking, to authorize the transfer and appropriation of matching funds required by the acceptance of this grant in the amount of $3,814.00 and to declare an emergency.

WHEREAS, the Franklin County Board of Commissioners, Justice Programs Unit, has awarded the City of Columbus, City Attorney's Office, Prosecutor Division a grant in the amount of $11,400.00 for Grant No. 2003-WF-VA1-V503 Law Enforcement Training for the year 2004; and
WHEREAS, the acceptance of this grant requires that the City Attorney supply matching funds in the amounts of $3,814.00; and
WHEREAS, these funds will be used to do Law Enforcement Training; and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the daily operation of the City Attorney's Office in that it is necessary to immediately accept and appropriate the grant funds and transfer and appropriate the matching funds in order that the services supported may continue uninterrupted; now, therefore,
