To Honor and Recognize the Northeast Storm High School Hockey Team
Body
WHEREAS, the Northeast Storm is the official Ohio High School Athletic Association hockey team for Central Ohio students when their school sports program doesn't include hockey; and
WHEREAS, the Northeast Storm achieved State of Ohio history as the first team to reach the Quarterfinals of the USA Hockey National High School Hockey Tournament in Chicago, Illinois, March 23 to March 27, 2011; and
WHEREAS, the Northeast Storm secured victory as Ohio State High School Hockey Champions, March 11 to March 13, 2011; and
WHEREAS, the Northeast Storm achieved a season-record of 36 wins, 13 losses and 4 ties; and
WHEREAS, the Northeast Storm were winners of three tournaments and finalists of five; and
WHEREAS, the Northeast Storm were guided by its exceptional corps of dedicated parents, family and friends; and
WHEREAS, the Northeast Storm were inspired by the leadership of its Coaches, President and Team Managers; and
WHEREAS, the Northeast Storm chose "Hard-easy" over "Easy-hard", "Ate the Frog" and "Never gave up"; and
WHEREAS, the Northeast Storm committed itself to excellence, put themselves in the best position to succeed, and exceeded all expectations; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That we do hereby congratulate the Northeast Storm on their accomplishments as USA Hockey National High School Hockey Tournament Quarterfinalists.
