Title: To authorize the Public Service Director to enter into an agreement with the Director of the Ohio Department of Transportation and to grant consent and propose cooperation with the State of Ohio for this SR 161 Urban Paving Project for the Transportation Division. ($0)
Explanation

Background: This is consent legislation with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) for an Urban Paving project. This project intends to perform partial depth pavement repairs; plane and resurface pavement with asphalt concrete; and replace pavement markings and loop detectors. Project limits extend on SR 161(Dublin-Granville Road) from 0.01 miles east of Sawmill Road to the structure over the Olentangy River. (FRA-SR161-5.78 PID 76145)

Since a portion of this project lies within the City of Columbus, this consent ordinance is necessary. Construction of this project is scheduled for 2007. The current estimate for the City is $40,000.00 which includes a 10% contingency for construction inspection. The City's estimated cost is lower than the 20% required of the LPA in Urban Paving Projects because a portion of this project is in The City of Worthington and a portion of it is funded 100% by ODOT. This legislation also authorizes the Public Service Director to enter into the necessary agreements to complete this project.

Fiscal Impact: The estimated total cost of this project is $330,000.00. The City's cost of construction for this project is now estimated at $40,000.00. There is no funding required at this time from the City.
