Explanation
BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Finance and Management Director to renew an existing Universal Term Contract (UTC) for the option to obtain Street Name Sign Brackets with MD Solutions Inc. This contract provides for brackets for street name signs used citywide for the Division of Traffic Management.
The contract, PO083718 was established in accordance with Request for Quotation RFQ005525 and authorized under Ordinance Number 2220-2017 and will expire June 30, 2020. In accordance with the bid specifications, the City and MD Solutions Inc. can renew the contract for an additional one year term subject to mutual agreement and approval of proper City Authorities. The new contract expiration date will be June 30, 2021.
FISCAL IMPACT: No funding is required to renew the option contract. The Department of Public Service must set aside their own funding for their estimated expenditures.

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Office entered into a Universal Term Contract for Street Name Sign Brackets for use by the Division of Traffic Management, and
WHEREAS, this contract was entered into in accordance with Chapter 329 of the Columbus City Code, pursuant to solicitation RFQ005525 with MD Solutions Inc. deemed the lowest, most responsive, responsible and best bidder, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the bid specifications, the City and MD Solutions Inc. can renew the contract for an additional one year period, subject to mutual agreement and approval of proper City authorities, and
WHEREAS, it has become necessary in the usual daily operation of the Department of Public Service to authorize the Finance and Management Director to renew a Universal Term Contract with MD Solutions Inc. for the option to obtain Street Name Sign Brackets; now, therefore
