Explanation
BACKGROUND: By way of ordinance 1687-2025, the City amended various sections of the Columbus City Codes to reflect the updated Division of Real Estate and Land Redevelopment within the Department of Development. At that time, Chapter 328 - LAND REVIEW COMMISSION was amended to bring the chapter in line with the division’s updated duties. However, in so doing, Section 328.02 which outlines the composition of the Land Review Commission was inadvertently repealed due to a drafting error. This ordinance seeks to amend Ordinance 1687-2025 to correct same.
FISCAL IMPACT: There is no expenditure associated with this Ordinance.

To amend Ordinance No. 1687-2025 to correct an error in the text used to amend Chapter 328 of the Columbus City Codes. ($0.00)

WHEREAS, Ordinance 1687-2025 amended various sections of the Columbus City Codes to reflect the updated Division of Real Estate and Land Redevelopment within the Department of Development; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 328 - LAND REVIEW COMMISSION was thereby amended to bring the chapter in line with the division’s updated duties but in so doing, Section 328.02 which outlines the composition of the Land Review Commission was inadvertently repealed due to a drafting error; and
WHEREAS, Section 328.02 was not intended to be so repealed and is in need of restoration, and
WHEREAS, it has become necessary in the usual daily operation of the Department of Development for the City to correct this error in order to assure the continued operations of the Land Review Commission; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
SECTION 1. That SECTION 16 of Ordinance 1687-2025 be amended as follows:
SECTION 16. That with the exception of Section 328.02 which shall remain in effect, prior existing Chapter 328 is hereby repealed.
SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
