To recognize and congratulate Cantor Jack Chomsky for the 20 years of outstanding work you have provided to Congregation Tifereth Israel and the Columbus community.
 
 
Body
 
WHEREAS, Cantor Chomsky served as Co-president of B.R.E.A.D. (Building Responsibility, Equality and Dignity), a local community action organization from 2000 to 2002; and
 
WHEREAS, Cantor Chomsky coordinates the Social Action programming for the Congregation and is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Jewish Family Services in Columbus; and
 
WHEREAS, Cantor Chomsky is co-founder and director of KOLEINU, the citywide Jewish choir; and
 
WHEREAS, Cantor Jack Chomsky serves as a shinning example of one who is devoted to Judaism and a life-long quest for social justice in the traditions of Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel and Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr.; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
 
That this Council does hereby recognize and congratulate Cantor Jack Chomsky for his activism and commitment to social justice and interfaith programs throughout Central Ohio.
