Explanation
BACKGROUND: To reimburse Homewood Corporation for the material cost between an eight (8) inch water line and a twelve (12) inch water line along Refugee Road as per Columbus City Code Section 1105.15. The larger water line was requested by the Division of Water to ensure adequate fire protection in the immediate area and to reinforce the overall distribution system.

FISCAL IMPACT: This project is included in the C.I.B. and is being funded from current monies.

To authorize the Director of Public Utilities to enter into an reimbursement agreement with Homewood Corporation for the construction of the Refugee Road Water Line and to authorize the expenditure of $7,300.00 from the Water Works Enlargement Voted 1991 Bonds Fund for the Division of Water. ($7,300.00)

Body
WHEREAS, Homewood Corporation hereinafter designated the developer, desires to provide water service to his development with the extension of an eight (8) inch water line; and

WHEREAS, the Division of Water has requested that the developer increase the size of the proposed water line to twelve (12) inch to ensure adequate fire protection in the immediate area and to reinforce the overall distribution system, and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the City to pay a developer the difference in material costs for installing a water line larger that is required for their development, as per Columbus City Code Section 1105.15, paragraph C-1, and

WHEREAS, in the usual daily operation of the Division of Water, Department of Public Utilities, it has become necessary to authorize payment to the Developer for the installation of a twelve (12) inch water line along Refugee Road for the preservation of the public health, peace, property, welfare and safety, Now, Therefore,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
