To celebrate the life of Theodore “Teddy” Franklin Corey and to extend our sincerest condolences to his family and friends

WHEREAS, members of Columbus City Council are deeply saddened by the passing of Theodore “Teddy” Franklin Corey, a beloved son, brother, grandson, and cherished member of the Columbus community, whose life ended on July 19, 2026, at the age of two and a half; and
WHEREAS, although Teddy’s time on earth was far too brief, the joy, love, and light he brought into the lives of those around him were immeasurable; and
WHEREAS, Teddy possessed a boundless zest for life and approached each day with curiosity, enthusiasm, and delight - discovering new words and activities, sharing what he had learned, and celebrating the simple moments of childhood with his family; and
WHEREAS, he was a devoted little brother to Elijah and treasured the time they spent together playing, kicking a soccer ball, exploring parks and playgrounds, and creating the everyday memories that remain precious to their family; and
WHEREAS, Teddy was known for his infectious personality, his enormous smile, his playful spirit, and his ability to find delight in the smallest moments-from choosing chocolate chips from his favorite treats to dancing before bedtime and posing for photographs with his signature silliness; and
WHEREAS, his life was surrounded by extraordinary love from his parents, Michael and Lori Corey, his brother Elijah, his grandparents, extended family, and the many caregivers and members of his community who helped foster his growth and nurture his remarkable spirit; and
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: This Council respectfully honors and celebrates the life and legacy of Theodore “Teddy” Franklin Corey, recognizing the profound joy he brought to his family and community.
