To honor and recognize the Division of Fleet Management employees within the Department of Finance and Management for their exceptional achievements.



Body

WHEREAS, the Division of Fleet Management employees have been recognized by the industry as one of the top 20 "100 Best Fleets" in North America for the third year in a row, validating improved processes and reduced expenses within the Fleet Division over the last several years; and

WHEREAS, the Division of Fleet Management employees have, for the third year in a row, been recognized by the nationally accepted training organization as an ASE Blue Seal operation, and are the largest municipal fleet operation in the United States to hold this certification; and

WHEREAS, the Division of Fleet Management continues to drive "on-line" sales of City assets, increasing sale proceeds to the City by 105 percent and exceeding $1 million dollars in proceeds; and

WHEREAS, the Division of Fleet Management employees have embraced the Mayor's Green Fleet Action Plan and work diligently to implement "alternative fuels" such as Compressed Natural Gas, reducing our reliance on fossil fuels and the City of Columbus' "carbon footprint"; and

WHEREAS, the Division of Fleet Management employees are committed to continuing education, and as a result, the Division has 28 ASE Master and 7 EVT Master Mechanic Certifications on the floor, thereby reducing our dependency on, and lowering expenses for, both parts and supplier services; and

WHEREAS, the Division of Fleet Management employees continue to be recognized in National Trade Industry publications such as Government Fleet by Bobit Publishing for their centralization and innovative processes; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Finance and the Division of Fleet Management employees have demonstrated, through their achievements and dedication to their vocations, that they truly are one of the best fleet operations in the nation; now, therefore
