Explanation
BACKGROUND: This ordinance authorizes the Director of the Department of Public Utilities to enter into a pole attachment agreement with Citynet to attach fiber optic cable and other related and appropriate facilities on poles owned by the City of Columbus, Division of Electricity. Rental fees of $16.00 per pole will be paid annually to the Division of Electricity.
FISCAL IMPACT: This agreeement will generate income for the Division of Electricity but will not have an impact on the division's budget.

Body
WHEREAS, Citynet wishes to operate fiber optic systems within the City of Columbus, for the provision of voice services to its customers; and
WHEREAS, Citynet wishes to attach is fiber optic cable and other related and appropriate facilities on poles owned by the City of Columbus, Division of Electricity; and
WHEREAS, a pole attachment agreement is necessary to permit said pole attachments; now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
SECTION 1. That the Director of the Department of Public Utilities be and is hereby authorized to enter into a pole attachment agreement with Citynet.
SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
