Explanation
Background: This ordinance authorizes the Director of Recreation and to accept a deed for parcel 010-231127, in the City’s Northland Community, and to dedicate said property as public parkland.
In 2024, Tiffany Flats LLC, as part of a parkland dedication ordinance zoning requirement, agreed to provide parcel 010-231127 to the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department. The two-acre parcel is located at the intersection of Presidential Gateway and Solitaire Lane in the City's Northland Community. As part of the land transfer, the owner offered to build improvements to the parkland for use as a neighborhood park, at their own expense. The Recreation and Parks Department approved the plan. The plan includes a paved loop path, two pickleball courts, a 10-space parking area, benches, and native trees. The neighborhoods surrounding this park are seriously underserved for greenspace and the park will provide important recreation opportunities.

Emergency Justification: Emergency action is requested as the transfer of the parkland to the Recreation and Parks Department must be completed as soon as possible for the owner to receive final site compliance for their project, allowing the benefits of the new park to be realized by the public as soon as possible.
Benefits to the Public: This project will provide a quality neighborhood park in one of the City's most under-served communities.
Community Input/Issues: The surrounding neighborhood has expressed a strong priority for neighborhood park space.
