To honor and recognize Columbus Africentric Lady Nubians for winning top honors in the state Division IV Girls Basketball Tournament.

WHEREAS, on Saturday, March 17, 2007, the Africentric's Lady Nubians: Chynna Bozeman, Cedra Chambers, Shi-Neice Cox, Ashar Harris, Alesia Howard, Breeanca Madison, Jimesha Mills, Shardai Morrison-Fountain, Tyeasha Moss and Dawn Wade played for the state championship title and won; and
WHEREAS, the Lady Nubians played some of the toughest schools to get to the State Championship; and
WHEREAS, the skill and talent on the 2007 Lady Nubians team resulted in a season with twenty-seven wins and only one loss; and
WHEREAS, this Council is pleased to honor and recognize the Columbus Africentric's Lady Nubians basketball players, coaching staff and principal for this outstanding honor; and
WHEREAS, we salute Head Coach Will McKinney and Assistant Coaches: Tomeka Brown, Tony Hairston, Jude Moorman and Eleanor Vickers for creating such a dynamic basketball program, and working diligently to mold these young ladies into a winning team; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: that this Council does hereby honor and recognize the Columbus Africentric Lady Nubians for winning top honors in the state Division IV Girls Basketball Tournament.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution is presented to the Africentric's Lady Nubians and coaching staff as a token of our appreciation and congratulations to them all.
