Title: To authorize the expenditure of $80,000.00 for various park and playground Improvements from the Voted 1995 and 1999 Parks and Recreation Bond Fund, and to declare an emergency. ($80,000.00)
Explanation

This ordinance will authorize various expenditures for labor, material and equipment in conjunction with
Park & Playground Improvements in the amount of $80,000.00.

Improvements include installation of playground equipment, lighting, fencing, walkways, etc.

All work will be based on three estimates obtained from qualified contractors and will not exceed $20,000.00.

Emergency legislation is required to allow these projects to proceed in a timely manner.

Fiscal Impact:
$80,000.00 is required and budgeted in the Voted 1995 and 1999 Parks and Recreation Bond Fund to meet
the financial obligations of these various expenditures.

Funding for these improvements is available from unallocated balances in the Voted 1995 and 1999 Parks
and Recreation Bond Fund.

WHEREAS, park and playground improvements are necessary within the Recreation and Parks Department; and

WHEREAS, funding is available for these improvements from unallocated balances within the Voted 1995 and 1999 Parks and Recreation Bond Fund; and

WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Recreation and Parks Department in that it is immediately necessary to expend said funds to ensure improvements proceed in a timely manner; now, therefore

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

Section 1. That the purchase of labor, materials and equipment is necessary for various park and playground improvements within the Recreation and Parks Department.
