Background: This legislation authorizes the Finance and Management Director to issue purchase orders for ultra low sulfur diesel and bio diesel for the Fleet Management Division. Fiscal Impact: The Fleet Management Division spent $3,732,151.05 for bulk bio and ultra low diesel fuels deliveries in 2014. The expected expenditure through the 2015 fiscal year for bulk bio/diesel fuel deliveries is $3,000,000.00. This ordinance is contingent on the passage of the 2015 operating budget.
Emergency action is requested to ensure an uninterrupted supply of bulk bio diesel and ultra low sulfur diesel fuels. These fuels are used by City vehicles, including Police, Fire and Refuse Collection vehicles.
