Title

To honor and congratulate Larry Danduran for 31 years of service to The Gladden Community House and the residents of Franklinton.

Body

WHEREAS, The Gladden Community House is a settlement house serving Franklinton and it's surrounding neighborhoods since 1905, and

WHEREAS, Gladden Community House provides education and recreation programs, emergency assistance, and advocacy and support for individuals, families and groups; and

WHEREAS, The Community House is celebrating its 100^th anniversary and honoring Executive Director Larry D. Danduran for his dedication and untiring efforts; and

WHEREAS, Larry Danduran honored Gladden Community House by accepting the position of Executive Director in December 1974 and has served with commitment and integrity in every task; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Danduran has been invaluable in the growth and development of The Gladden Community House and has witnessed an increase in staff from 4 in 1974 to 40 in 2005; and  

WHEREAS, under Mr.Danduran's leadership the Gladden Community House has created a youth services program that currently includes after school programs, team sports and recreation, supplemental reading and food services; and

WHEREAS, The Gladden Community House has been blessed with his leadership for 31 years and wishes Larry much bowling and gardening in retirement; therefore

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

That this Council does hereby recognize and congratulate Larry D. Danduran on the occasion of his retirement from 31 years of life changing work with The Gladden Community House this 12^th day of December 2005.
