Explanation
This ordinance appropriates and transfers $60,000.00 from the Municipal Court Special Revenue Fund, Probation Services Fund, to the General Government Grants Fund. The amount appropriated and transferred constitutes a match for the grant awarded to the Department of Probation Services within the Department of Franklin County Municipal Court Judges, and additional monies to supplement salaries and benefits not covered by the grant. This legislation will also allow the continuation of a program for two victim assistants to assist the Probation Officers primarily in the Domestic Violence Unit. The two employees serve as liaison to the City Prosecutor and work with the victims of crime when the perpetrator has been placed on probation.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds are available within the Probation Fees Fund for the portion not covered by the grant. A corresponding ordinance appropriates the grant funds supplied by the State of Ohio.
EMERGENCY DECLARATION IS REQUESTED TO EXPEDITE THIS NEW CYCLE AS CLOSE TO THE FIRST OF OCTOBER, 2004 AS POSSIBLE.
