Explanation
BACKGROUND: Authorization is needed for the Director of the Department of Development to enter into four 5 year lease agreements for the properties at 913 E Mound St (010-057080), 398 Carpenter St (010-016304) and 372 Linwood Ave (010-008291) to Four Seasons City Farm, an Ohio non-profit; for the properties at 290 Avondale Ave (010-031737), 294 Avondale Ave (010-010923), 154-164 Hawkes Ave (010-029587), 962 Sullivant Ave (010-047145), 970 Sullivant Ave (010-041743) and 974 Sullivant Ave (010-041744) to Franklinton Farms, an Ohio non-profit; for the properties at 1200-1202 Wilson Ave (010-006202) and 1269-1271 Wilson Ave (010-017350) to ICANDO Community Development, an Ohio non-profit; and for the properties at 456-458 Garfield Ave. (010-013596), 1652 Greenway Ave. (010-012628), 1201 E Hildreth Ave. (010-021629) and 156 N. 21st St. (010-040428) to Partners Achieving Community Transformation, an Ohio non-profit. These four non-profits have successfully gardened their sites for several years making substantial improvements so that they qualify for long-term leases. This legislation authorizes the Director of Development to enter into the necessary lease agreements as needed for the use, operation, lease, and management of the property by Four Seasons City Farm, Franklinton Farms, ICANDO Community Development and Partners Achieving Community Transformation, respectively.
FISCAL IMPACT: The City will collect “Rent” as defined as lessee’s annual rental payment to the City, in the amount of Nine-Hundred Forty-Six, and 00/100 U.S. Dollars ($946.00), in the amount of Five-Hundred Fifty-Four and 00/100 U.S. Dollars ($554.00) in the amount of One-Hundred Thirty and 00/100 U.S. Dollars ($130.00) and in the amount of Two-Hundred Fifty-Four and 00/100 U.S. Dollars ($254.00) which is calculated at $0.015 U.S. Dollars per square foot.
